In the field of hematology, the commitment of SPA is aimed at the prevention and treatment of iron deficiency anemia with the offer of a highly absorbable iron-based effervescent product.

Iron deficiency anemia, also called martial anemia, is the most common type of anemia. Iron is a microelement fundamental for some biological functions, including the formation of hemoglobin, a protein present in red blood cells that binds oxygen and transports it through the blood to feed muscles, tissues and organs.

Iron deficiency can depend on several factors such as poor dietary intake, problems with absorption and blood loss. In states of deficiency, the production of hemoglobin becomes insufficient and there is inadequate oxygenation of tissues throughout the body. Anemia can affect all age groups, from children to adolescents, the elderly, women of childbearing age, pregnant and breastfeeding.

The symptoms of iron deficiency anemia can be: asthenia (fatigue and weakness), poor appetite, irritability, headache, insomnia, shortness of breath and breathlessness, up to chest pain, dizziness and giddiness, acceleration of the heartbeat. Initially they can be mild, because the organism is supplied by iron deposits present in the form of ferritin, when the deficiency remains, they intensify.

PREVENTION

To prevent the onset of anemia you should follow a varied diet, which includes foods rich in iron, such as red meat, pork, green leafy vegetables, dried fruits, chicken, seafood, beans. To these foods it is useful to associate foods with a high content of vitamin C that improve the absorption of iron. Particular attention in prevention should be paid to children, pregnant women and during lactation.
